| We
all enjoy sitting out and entertaining on our decks.
However, very often decks have not been properly
maintained and both rain and sunlight have caused the
structures to deteriorate. In some cases the wood has
actually begun to decay. We’ve all seen situations
where wood decay or settling has allowed the deck to
become unstable.
Below
is a short list of structural repairs we perform: |

- Repair/replace
loose damaged and decayed boards.
- Repair/replace
decayed, damaged or settling support girders and
posts.
- Repair/replace
broken, damaged or missing footings.
- Repair/replace
loose rail supports and railings.
- Repair/replace
loose damaged step risers and steps.
- Repair/replace
damaged or missing joist hangers.
- Repair/replace
improperly secured decks or balconies.
- Repair/replace missing,
damaged or improperly space balusters or
handrails.

| There
are many cases in which the deck and its structure are
completely sound and all that is required is that the
deck be restored and preserved. In the case we do the
following:

- We
clean and power wash all surfaces.
- Then
we allow the surfaces to properly dry. There
should not be more than 15% moisture in the wood
when it is measured with a moisture meter.

Finally to ensure your deck
looks great and is protected from mildew, water
and damage we apply a high-quality
finish/preservative containing UV resistant
compounds. These preservatives come in various
different shades and colors to choose from.
